Ula Wiznerowicz is a London-based photographer with a curiosity for the world which she explores through imagery. Her works are all documents of personal experiences. She focuses on social documentary, portraiture and landscape.
Her photographs capture authentic locations and tell stories about the people who live there. The images come alive in light; the story reaches the spectator beyond material reality. She explores the poetry of commonplace, captures the ordinary through her own gaze. She choses art as a powerful tool to express her emotions and herself. She was born and raised in the small village, Palmowo in Poland. Wiznerowicz is a recent BA Photography graduate from Middlesex University in London.
For her work capturing the problem of of alcoholism in Poland she was rewarded with the main prize for Photography at the D&AD, New Blood 2010 exhibition. She is also a recent finalist of the Channel 4 and Saatchi Gallery: New Sensations 2010 Prize, a prize for art students, which identifies and supports the most exciting emerging artists in the UK.
