About Deconstruction Project

Deconstruction Project is a London based non-profit contemporary arts organization. We focus on promoting Polish culture through art, music, design and education. Our mission is to introduce the wealth of Polish culture to London as well as to act as a platform for cultural collaboration. We are interested in dialogue and cultural diversity and aim to realize individual projects on international and collaborative scale.

The purpose of our activities is to bring the artistic communities of Poland and Great Britain closer by strengthening cultural relations and establishing new contacts between Polish and local artists, musicians and curators. We also focus on creating various artistic environments for collaboration with artists from other ethnic backgrounds, as we believe art benefit the most when creatives from different cultures interchange ideas, skills and passion.

Our approach, to promotion of Polish culture is innovative and unique as we merge both the promotion of national heritage, as well as we search and support the emerging contemporary artists and musicians of Polish origin living in the UK. Polish community has become a significant part of British culture and it is important to us to make Polish art more visible and recognizable within the multi-cultural art scene that London embraces.

We introduce new talent, new ideas and possibilities. We focus on fresh approach to cultural integration and it is important to us to continue acting as a platform with a groundbreaking and innovative attitude.

An important part of our activities is our website that contains ever growing digital database of Polish artists living and working in UK as well as listing of Polish cultural events happening in London. This way we aim to create an active network for Polish artistic community.

The organization is registered as a company limited by guarantee and has a vibrant management board that oversees the vision and aims of the organization and the implementation of the projects.

Current vision and program of Deconstruction Project was created by Agnieszka Kucharko, Kasia Sobucka and Karolina Merska. Deconstruction Project follows ideas of Polish deConstruction, a group founded in 2007. For more information on PdC history please go to www.polishdeconstruction.org.
